He has written over two hundred lyric, script, and other properties including Donner The Cannibal Reindeer, presented by Jody Denberg and The Dr. Demento Radio Show.
Sam creates custom voice characterizations and vocal effects in both song and the spoken word. His range and versatility have served studios including the Grammy Award winning Tequila Mockingbird Studio in Austin, TX; industrial projects for IBM, Covista Communications, KeyTrain and Thinking Media; and television commercials for UnitedSupermarkets and Covista Communications.
A noted concert music poster art collector, he provided art for the Stevie Ray Vaughan biography Soul To Soul by Keri Leigh. Sam has produced art shows and concert posters by artists Jason Austin and Lyman Hardy for bands including Soul Hat, The Jesus Lizard, Ed Hall, and Jon Spencer’s Blues Explosion for venues in Austin and New York’s historic CBGB. He produced and hosted the Hypnogasm multi-media event at Austin’s Electric Lounge.
Sam has also served the independent film community both on-camera and off. He has assisted production as crew in different areas and as an experienced script writer. As a script doctor, he has re-written scripts to improve plotting, naturalize dialogue, and even transformed unshootable manuscripts into viable film scripts with the necessary production elements in place.
In the major motion picture Miss Congeniality, Sam performed a scene with
Sandra Bullock. She pushed him around. He liked it.

Other Stuff
Over the years Sam has pursued a variety of interests and professions. On April 23, 2021 he will celebrate his 25th year anniversary with Starbucks Coffee Company. During his ten years as a member of the management team (Shift Supervisor) he was awarded the honor of Starbucks Partner of the Year 2006. It's proof that he works and plays well with others.
Sam returned to the Barista position to allow the flexibility of scheduling required for performing and personal business. Starbucks offers sabbaticals for decade-long partners. He will take advantage of this when needed for up-coming projects, voice over jobs, and touring. (Hopefully including a U.S.O. tour for the troops.)
Over the years Sam has volunteered on camera and off for worthy causes including The Arthritis Foundation, Boy Scouts of America, Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve, Blood Assurance, various charities and community service projects. He challenges you to get involved and make a difference!
In the early 1980's as a student at the University of Texas at Austin, Sam wrote columns for The Daily Texan. Two favorites are in the slideshow above. Read at your own risk.
Back then Sam also worked as an engineer and station manager of the Zilker Park Railroad.

Those of you who are the most into Frank Kozik know of Jay Knowles (Jay's 20th Century Esoterica) and that he traded hundreds of Kozik's offset printed posters out to collectors in California and others from around the world. This is how L'Imagerie Gallery discovered Frank's talent. They set him up with a silk screen press on which he created hundreds of works soon dominating and igniting the field world-wide. These events are widely known as the major catylist for the 'Second Golden Age' of rock concert art well documented in the book The Art of Modern Rock by Paul Grushkin and Dennis King. I was the first major collector of Frank Kozik's rock art and Jay's initial and main source of Kozik early/offset printing period pieces. My personal collection stamp of provenance is recognized and honored by galleries, historians, and serious collectors all over the world. This gallery is just a tiny fraction of my collection kept safe from the elements in climate controlled facilities. Those of you interested are invited to email requests for pricing and other info.
This area will grow as I have time to add more pieces. Keep checking back!
